Yesterday I went to Haarlem for the first time with my friend Eleni. No, I didn't go to New York and then mispell the area just above where I used to go to school. But yes, Harlem in NYC is named after the city of Haarlem here in the Netherlands by the Dutch immigrants.
It is a really beautiful city and so close! It's a wonder I'd never been before. It's a lot like Leiden but only bigger (not at all like Amsterdam or the Hague).
We didn't do anything super special, but we did take another tour of a windmill, which was really nice.
