Easter in Boxmeer!

On Good Friday Rene and I packed up our stuff and headed down to his parents' for Easter! We had a lovely time with his family, and a very nice Easter! Saturday night we went to an Easter service at the Catholic church in Boxmeer, and then Easter morning service and lunch at his dad's church in Venray.

On Saturday we went to St. Anthonis, where Rene's mom grew up, and cycled through the big forest there. It also happens to be the very same forest where Rene proposed to me, so we had a wonderful time exploring and remembering and climbing trees. Turns out there are a lot of better trees to climb in there than the one I happened to find last year, but it's ok because OUR tree will always be special for it's own reason!

The sheep (schapen, for all of you who remember the Dutch word!) have had little lambies and it was fun seeing all of them head-butt their mommies in the belly for milk! There were also Scottish highland cattle roaming through the forest. They were really big and hairy and I was afraid they would charge at us or something but I guess they're allowed to meander freely because they're so mild. They didn't pay us any attention as we cycled by and took pictures!

On Monday (Second Easter Day- yes, the Dutch have TWO Easter days!) Rene's grandmother came over for lunch. After lunch Rene and I set off on our 5 hour drive down to Paris!! (Paris details to be continued . . .)
