heading back to Mallorca!

Working in the elementary school at ASH has made me think that I just might want to become elementary school teacher! I've never wanted to teacher music in elementary schools, and I still don't want to. But I really love getting to know these 8 year olds, and I really love teaching them things like math and writing. 

Therefore, I've decided to get my Elementary Teaching Certification. There is a global program through the College of New Jersey where you can go to one of their global locations (Mallorca, for example) for two summers (3 classes each summer), take one online class and student teach during the year in between, pass the New Jersey state exams, and then you get New Jersey certification. However, since I'm already a certified teacher, there's a really good chance that I will only have to do one summer (3 classes) and then one online class this fall, take the New York exams, and then I get New York certification. Hopefully that will work out! I leave on June 25, start classes on the 27th, go until July 30, and fly back August 1. 

So goodbye cold rainy Dutch summer and hello beach every day after class!!
