Greetings from Mallorca!
I'm here and it's kind of weird. I'm in this strange place, I'll be here for another 5 weeks, and there's no Rene. It's beautiful here, though, and the weather is perfect- 88 F (31 C) and the sun is shining!
Today I went to the beach to finish up some last minute reading for my first day of class tomorrow. It's only about a 10 minutes walk from here, but on the way back it's entirely uphill. In fact, going anywhere, including to the college, means walking up the massive hill that the apartment is on they way back. I've been exploring different ways to make the trip- today I climbed up this monstrous wall of stairs (see photo). The next time I'm going to try a different road that will hopefully be more of a gradual incline and slightly shorter.
I can't remember any Spanish. I took 7 1/2 years of it, but every time I want to say something, I can only think of Dutch words!
