Ok, so despite my efforts to be brief, I realize that my posts of the previous two days are quite extensive, and I imagine you won't want to read a play by play of EVERYTHING I'm doing here in Leiden . . . so I'll just tell you about church this morning!
Rene has been going to ICL- International Church of Leiden. The pastor is British and the main language is English. Rene has already made friends as he had been part of three Bible studies this past Spring. And since his move to Leiden and choice of church was basically a direct result of his preparations for my move here, everyone knew about me already and gave me a really warm welcome! We ran into two of the girls from his home group on the way in, were welcomed in the opening remarks by the pastor's wife, and even got mentioned in the pastor's sermon! Everyone was so friendly and so good at speaking English! While I'm normally not so good at meeting new people in large settings like after a church service, I felt really comfortable talking to everyone and I think I will be able to make very good friendships with them. We wanted to have lunch with everyone but many of them were busy, so instead we're having them all over for dinner tomorrow night! Our first dinner party in our new apartment together, without any furniture! Haha!
I don't have any pictures of the church because we forgot the camera this morning! But I promise that one will soon follow (well, "soon" is relative, since we'll be in Mallorca this Sunday, so it will have to be after next Sunday!)
How was that for brief? :)
