Rene and I are back from Belgium! Despite getting home after midnight Sunday night totally exhausted and having to sit through the cold, the wind, and the rain, the weekend was SPLENDID!! I promise to write about it more in detail with PICTURES, but it's late and I need to go to bed!
I've been keeping very busy- yesterday I did a mountain of laundry after we got a bit muddy and wet at the grand prix. After waking up very late, I went out, and did some errands and the grocery shopping (failed to find bread crumbs, but Rene informed me last night that it's called paneermeel and I found it today with no problem), and met Rosie for coffee at this super cute coffee shop on Haarlemmerstraat (the main shopping street in town) called Bagels and Beans, cooked pork chops for dinner, and then went to our friend Hennie's place to celebrate her birthday with her.
Today again I was busy- I did more laundry, cleaned the apartment (including the bathroom but excluding the bedroom because it's just quite hopeless with our clothes and stuff scattered all over the floor), went grocery shopping (I'm still exploring the different stores, figuring our what things should cost when on sale, and stocking up on things for our pantry), tried to find consomme (I want to make a recipe that my grammie gave me, but it calls for consomme, and I couldn't find it anywhere, so I'm going to try beef bullion instead), looked for a large plastic container with a lid in which to bring salad to Bible study, downloaded some wedding pictures (getting some printed and making a photo book online is the next step), made the salad and left for Bible study, got very lost, found my way, enjoyed our inductive study of Philemon, and then went home with Rene (who met me there very late because he had to work late) to make him an omelet for dinner.
All very boring stuff, and when recounting it, it doesn't seem like it should take me all day, but it does! Of course in between I eat and check email and such . . .
Ok, bedtime so I can hopefully write all about Belgium in the morning!!
