Busy beginning

Whoo! It's been a crazy busy beginning to the school year. Turns out that the school had a couple kids come back who need Special Needs assistance even though they weren't planning on it, so they asked me to temporarily fill in as one of the kid's Learning Support Assistants. They filled all the hours that I wasn't teaching music, so I've been working full time for the past two weeks. However, although I was told that I would have a good chance of getting the actual job once it is advertised (and I apply for it), things are now up in the air. It's a long story, but I've applied for the job and am now waiting to see what happens. I'm having a good time working with Brian- he's a really nice boy and I enjoy getting to know him and learning how I can best help him. But on the other hand, sitting through his classes is not super-exciting, since the level that the kids are at in his class is kinda low and the class moves at a snail's pace (sorry Stevie and Stephanie!)

So, there may be some other possibilities for me in the case I don't get the LSA job permanantly. They might even be better for me, but I'll tell you about them if they actually become possibilites!!

No word yet about my Dutch classes, but at this point I don't mind because I'm pretty busy already without classes on Monday and Wednesday nights.

I've agreed to help out with the school musical, so I'll be helping Helen, another music teacher, run music rehearsals on Thursdays after school.

And last but not least, Rene and I leading a Bible study with our friends Bart and Lauren, and the first evening is this Friday! Well, I'm not so much leading as hosting it at our house, but I'll be helping Rene with his studies . . .

So I hope I'll get a chance to write again soon!
