More about government people . . .

Just an inconclusive follow-up to let you know that I had my meeting with the NCB (the confusing letter they sent out was a general letter to everyone, regardless of your situation . . .), and I can start evening classes on Monday and Wednesday for the State Exam I, but as I was talking to the woman there, I mentioned wanting to take the State Exam II, and she said that that would be a better idea for me, but that her organization doesn't do that, so I have to go back to my case manager at the city to ask for a change in my plan of study.

Of course, when I talked to my case manager, she said she doesn't see a good reason why I should switch my plan of study, that she doesn't think it's worth writing up a new contract, and that my Dutch isn't good enough for the higher level anyway (of course, I was frustrated and nervous, so I was speaking Dutch REALLY badly during our conversation). But in the end, she said that if I write a letter and email it to her, she will bring it to her boss and see what he says. But if he says "no," then the answer is no.

I haven't heard back from her yet, and that was almost a week ago. I called her this afternoon but only got her voicemail, so I left a message asking if she had received my letter . . . and now I continue to wait . . .

At this point, I just want to get started, no matter which plan of study it is!
