Yesterday morning my Rosie left me forever! :(
Mark and Tom have finished their year abroad here in Leiden, and all three of them have gone back to England. I always knew becoming so close to someone who wasn't going to be around very long was a bad idea, because the time always goes by too fast and then it's over. Of course, I didn't learn this lesson from Rene, because I just married him and we saved ourselves from "gone forever." Unfortunatly, Rosie is going to marry Mark next summer so I can't fix the problem that way!! (haha!)
I threw Rosie a surprise bridal shower/going away party last Thursday evening. Since all year long Rosie and I would complain that we weren't invited to "guys' nights," I decided to have our own "guys' night" with all the girls. So we dressed up in jeans and t-shirts and ball caps, ate pizza and wings and drank beer, and played party games on the wii. We were supposed to go outside to have a spitting contest, and also to the pool hall to play pool and darts, but the evening was just too short.
And then on Saturday Rene and I had our Bible study over for a going away party for Mark, Rosie, Tom, and another student named Trevin. We played an improv game based off a TV show here in Holland that is a lot like Who's Line Is It Anyway, which I thought was fun, but I don't know if everyone else did . . .
Oh! And the night before Rosie's party (Wednesday), our Bible study went to the Tikibad (watch the video!), which is an indoor waterslide/wavepool/hot tub place. The waterslides were really good fast ones that made your tummy flip over, and we had a lot of fun there.
But the moral of the story is that it was a very busy week for me!! I slept or bummed around almost the whole evening last night, but I needed it!
